The highly competitive, annual TAPPS Fall Photo Awards were announced this past December, and our Newspaper and Media Club students demonstrated the outstanding talent within our school. Photographers in both Newspaper and Yearbook clubs submitted their best pictures, and several of our students earned honors in the competition. It was the first time the Academy participated in this category, even though the school has been a TAPPS member for many years.

President of the Yearbook Club, Jannah Iqbal, received multiple awards. Her outstanding performance was highlighted with four honorable mentions, one in each of the categories of Student Life and Nature and two in the category of Informal Portrait. Additionally to these honorable mentions, Iqbal was also the only BHA student to receive a medal in the competition winning second place in Formal Portrait. She has demonstrated the best within our students here at BHA and we are immensely proud of her success.

One of the Online Editors of the Newspaper Club, Ahmed Sajjad, and the Managing Editor, Osayd Haq, submitted and earned recognition for their photos as well. Haq earned an honorable mention in the Landscape category, highlighting his keen eye for detail in photography. Sajjad was recognized with an honorable mention in Formal Portrait, showcasing his skill in portraying depth and emotion through his lens. When asked about the achievement, Sajjad reflected, “Honestly I felt very surprised receiving the reward and also empowered with my photography skills. It makes me want to participate in more competitions and to also practice my photography skills more.”

These achievements speak volumes about the hard work and passion each student brings to their photography. The TAPPS Photography Competition is known for its high standards and competitive nature, making these awards even more significant. As Sajjad said, we hope many more of our students continue participating in such competitions. It is an excellent opportunity to hone one’s skills and pursue their passion by challenging themselves creatively. We are excited to see our exceptional students’ achievements continue to be earned by our excellent students, who continue to make us proud. Most of all, congratulations once again to the students who received these awards, it is wonderful to see an affinity of talent within our Yearbook and Newspaper clubs, may you continue to succeed!
