Hello BHA Stars, and welcome back to your monthly Horizon Highlights – a general recap of everything that happened on campus this month. With the school year now in full swing, students continued to grow, making October an intriguing blend of learning, celebration, and cooler weather. Let’s take a look at all the wonderful things that happened this month at BHA!
On October 4th, BHA families and community members gathered for the ISF Annual Endowment Benefit Dinner – a night dedicated to supporting education and future student success at BHA and elsewhere. In addition to inspiring speeches and good food, the community was able to recognize student’s artistic talents through an auction of student artwork, with all proceeds going towards further ISF projects. These pieces reflected the dedication of BHA’s young artists, especially during an extremely busy time of year.
Next, on Friday, October 10th, the first quarter came to a close. Alhamdulillah, this achievement served as a reminder of how far we have already come! It feels like this school year started just yesterday. I hope that everyone was proud of their progress, and stepped foot into the second quarter with a new sense of motivation.
On the week of October 13th to 17th, BHA students celebrated Sunnah Week, which was a beneficial opportunity to reflect on the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Students participated in activities throughout the week, such as wearing green, and answering raffle questions centered around the Sunnah. It was beautiful to see our students come together in remembrance of our beloved Prophet.
The following weekend, from October 18th through 20th, students enjoyed a three-day weekend, due to parent-teacher conferences. This was an excellent chance for teachers and families to connect, reflect on progress, and set goals for the next quarter. The short break also gave everyone a chance to rest and recharge before jumping into the next stage of school at BHA.
On October 24th, the anticipated PTO Fall Festival brought joy and festive energy to BHA! Students, families, and staff enjoyed seasonal activities, food, and games, all while supporting our talented student vendors. Our star business experts shined brightly, making the evening exciting and memorable for all who attended, through stalls that were sure to catch your eye!

BHA spirit and excitement continued to build as the month neared its end. On the week of October 27th to 31st, BHA recognized Red Ribbon Week, which raised awareness against drugs, encouraging students to lead drug-free lives, especially during times where peer pressure is widespread. Through the week, students wore red and pledged to remain drug-free; an important reminder of the need to make responsible choices, and to ensure everyone in our community is safe and healthy.
Finally, on October 31st, the school community came together for the buzzing League of Stars Pep Rally! All four houses–Umar, Abu Bakr, Aishah, and Khadijah– competed in energetic challenges while students cheered excitedly from the stands. The gym echoed with school spirit as students competed in trivia games, tug-of-war, and basketball. It was the highlight of the month and a showcase of BHA pride, with this new project stepping foot into the BHA community.
And that is all for October! I hope you enjoyed this month’s highlights! Be sure to join us again next month to see what November has in store for us, in preparation for one of the busiest times of the year–midterms!
