Sugar, spice and everything nice! As autumn flavors begin to burst into your favorite cafés it’s time to embrace the seasonal magic. When it comes to the autumn season, finding the perfect seasonal drink, hot or cold, is a must. The best way to enjoy your pumpkin spiced latte is  undeniably iced.

Sick of scorching your tongue on a hot latte? Go iced instead—it’s a refreshing smooth experience that lets you savor every sip without the burn. On top of that iced drinks are prone to lasting longer, giving you more time to enjoy it. It’s convenient because you can store it and drink it later. Sophomore Zaynab Kazi shares: “I love the feeling of sipping an iced coffee while eating a sweet treat, it gives off Pinterest vibes!”

Sophomore, Sabrira Zia Zaidani, visits a local café and orders her favorite Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte. Zaidani ordered this drink in October of 2024, while on fall break.

While a warm pumpkin spice drink may be cozy, it often overpowers the subtle flavors with spices and heat, making it harder to fully appreciate every spice. During the autumn season in Texas, it’s hardly ever cold enough for a steaming latte. To truly embrace the fall flavors, an iced pumpkin spice latte is the way to go, offering the perfect balance of spice, refreshment for any time of day.

So what do you think? Are iced pumpkin spice lattes undeniably superior, or do warm pumpkin spice lattes win the fight?

Are pumpkin spice lattes better iced, or warm?
