Ace your upcoming tests and finals with these study tips! Learn how to effectively take notes and manage academic stress in and out of school. When asked what study techniques are most effective in helping retain the most information, Noor Hussien, 9th grade, said, “What I like to do when I study is summarize information and create flashcards. This helps me prioritize concepts and set my understanding”
Another really important aspect of achieving academic success relies on finding balance between multiple subjects at the same time, which can help prepare you for any of your exams.
When asked how to find a balance between studying for many different subjects at the same time, Eman Hayee, 9th grade, said, “Using a calendar or a schedule with set timings for certain schedules can help separate your classes better. I also find it very helpful to prioritize subjects based on deadlines of importance.”
Now that we know how to manage time between different subjects, let’s delve into the significance of both independent versus group studies. When asked whether independent or group study is most effective when studying for a test, Hussien said, “Both independent and group study have importance. Usually, I use independent study when I focus on understanding the topic, but group study helps me discuss concepts with my peers.”
Having discussed independent versus group study, let’s finally discuss how to actually enjoy studying. When asked how one can make studying more enjoyable, Hayee said, “Watching videos creates visual aids, and helps make studying a lot more bearable. After watching the videos, I love to quiz myself on the topic with Quizizzes or Kahoots to make studying a more enjoyable process.”
