The middle school basketball 2024 season is underway. With four teams of students ranging from 6th-8th grade, they will be participating in basketball games against teams across various schools in Texas. They will be playing through the winter season and will provide immense entertainment for anyone wanting to watch and show their support.
The players on this team are very passionate about basketball and enjoy the team aspect of the sport. “I enjoy playing basketball because it teaches me to be a team player and is also something that allows me to have fun”, a junior varsity basketball player, Adam Mutawe, 6th grade, stated.
Basketball also serves as a way for these students to become disciplined and prepare for future life. Mutawe also talks about the inspirations that drive him to keep playing, his most notable being “The G.O.A.T., Kobe Bryant”.
To succeed and do well on a basketball team, it is important to recognize your strengths and weaknesses. “I think that my weaknesses are my stamina and my defense but I think my strongpoints are shooting and passing,” junior varsity basketball player, Yusuf Hamideh , 6th grade, shared. Many team members mentioned their excitement for the upcoming season and students can’t wait to see how far they can go and how much they can improve. “I can’t wait to play this season and I hope that BHA can win a ton of games in the future”, junior varsity basketball player Ibrahim Abukaram, 7th grade, stated.
